Is this B. Ed. Course valid outside India?

The teaching field of each country is governed by the rules and regulations of that particular country which differ from country to country. Hence you may have to do some additional courses in some countries.

If I am teaching in the school can I still get admission in B. Ed. Course?

No. As per the rules and regulations of B. Ed. Course the candidates cannot work simultaneously while doing his/ her B. Ed. full time professional course. 80% attendance in theory and 90% attendance in school internship is expected from candidates joining the course.

What is the fee structure of the course?

The fee structure of the course is similar for aided colleges and is as per government directives duly approved by relevant authorities.

Does the college provide hostel facility?

No. The college does not have any hostel facility.

Is there a placement service?

Yes. The college has placement cell which organises campus interviews for the students. Several reputed schools hire students from our college through this process.

Can I directly approach the college for admission?

Note that admission to the B. Ed course is completely centralized. However college can be approached for guidance and counselling for the admission process.

What is the procedure for admission for the B. Ed. course?

Admission to the B. Ed programme is strictly through Centralised Admission Procedure. All candidates must appear for the Common Entrance Test (CET) conducted by Maharashtra State Government State CET Cell. In addition to this, to secure admission in a college with English as the medium of instruction the candidate needs to take the English Language Content Test. Since the college is a Gujarati Linguistic Minority institution, 50% seats are reserved for students from the Gujarati Linguistic Minority group. Such students can give preference to Smt. Kapila Khandvala College of Education while filling the option form.

What is the duration of the course?

The B. Ed. course is a full time course, with the duration of two years. The course follows the Choice Based Credit System and is spread across four semesters.

What are the basic qualifications required for the B. Ed. course?

The basic qualification required for the B.Ed. course is graduation in any stream with 50% and above for General category and 45 % for Reserved category.

• If the candidate has done his/ her masters in the respective stream it will have an added weightage as per the government rules and regulations in the admission procedure.

What are the courses offered by the college?

The college runs the B. Ed. (full time regular) program, and is a recognized centre for Ph. D. in Education. Also a centre for M. A. (Education) offered by Institute of Distance Education (IDOL), University of Mumbai.
